House Burglary Gang In Pune Busted: Five Arrested, Gold Worth 13 Lakhs Seized

Vishrantwadi, 20th July 2023: In a significant breakthrough, the Vishrantwadi police station officials have successfully apprehended a house burglary gang and seized twenty-two and a half tolas of gold worth 13 lakhs. 

The arrested culprits include Panchakshari Sangayya Swamy, Naresh Vishnu Achugatla, Angat Valmik Bandgar, Shawar Siddha Bharat Pujari, and Kalyan Appa Mallappa Indi, all residents of Mangalwar Peth, Solapur. Notably, the gang also included a goldsmith who was involved in purchasing the stolen gold.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 4) Shashikant Borate commended the efforts of Sub-Inspector Lahu Satpute, policemen Sampat Bhosle, and Praful More, who acted on confidential information and apprehended the suspects near Bharat Dhaba in Dhanori. During the chase, Panchakshari Swami was found in possession of incriminating items, including an iron katavani, a gold bangle, a gold ring, and two pairs of earrings. Further investigations and confessions by the accused revealed their involvement in eight house burglary cases, seven in Vishrantwadi Police Station area and one in Hadapsar.

In light of the rising incidents of burglary, DCP Borate urged citizens to enhance security measures by installing CCTV cameras and employing security guards to deter burglary attempts.

The remarkable performance by the Vishrantwadi police was commended by top police officials, including Police Commissioner Retesh Kumaarr, Joint Commissioner of Police Sandeep Karnik, and Additional Commissioner of Police Ranjan Kumar Sharma. 

The investigation team, headed by Senior Police Inspector Dattatray Bhapkar and assisted by Sub-Inspector Lahu Satpute, played a pivotal role in the successful operation, with the support of police personnel like Deepak Chavan, Yashwant Kirve, Sampat Bhosle, and Praful More, among others.
