Pune: Rain And Landslide Disrupts Malshej Ghat Traffic, One-Way Traffic Implemented

Junnar, 18th July 2023: Malshej Ghat, located on the Pune-Thane highway at the border of Pune, Thane, and Ahmedagar districts within the Sahyadri mountain range, is experiencing heavy traffic congestion due to landslide amid heavy rains.

The Malshej Ghat area has witnessed persistent heavy rainfall over the past five to six days, leading to the formation of various cracks, both small and large. As is customary each year, the administration has taken steps to ensure smooth traffic management in Malshej Ghat.

Motorists are urged not to park their vehicles unnecessarily while traveling through Malshej Ghat. Additionally, the administration advises drivers to activate their vehicle lights during foggy conditions and maintain a single-file formation whenever possible to facilitate safe passage.
