Pune: Thieves Break ATM Lock But Run Away With Batteries Instead Of Cash
Pune 15th July 2023: The Crime Branch Unit of Pune City Police has arrested two accused for allegedly breaking ATM machine locks to steal batteries. The accused both residents of Akola district were arrested by the police from Kharadi as they were about to break another ATM in the city.
According to police, the accused were involved in stealing batteries from ATMs at multiple locations and they were selling them in the open market. Police have solved five cases of ATM batteries theft registered in Pune with the arrest.
The crime branch unit had received information about two men planning to break ATM in Kharadi. Accordingly, the police team laid a trap and the accused identifed as Bhagwan Vishwanath Sadar (38) and Subhash Suresh Sadar (26) both residents of Akola were arrested.
Five cases registered at Mundhwa, Hadapsar, Warje Malwadi, Chatushringi and Loni Kalbhor have been solved by police. Further investigation in the matter is underway.
