Over 180 players for the 1st KCA Pune Open chess tournament

Pune, July 15, 2023: Over 180players will be seen in action in the 1st KCA Pune Open chess tournament to be organized by Kunte Chess Academy and played at Shree Ganesh Sabhagruha, Karve Road on sunday 16th July 2023.

Mrunalini Kunte, Tournament Director informed that The tournament will be held under the auspices of PDCC. The event will be played under Swiss league format. The event will be held in 2 categories Group B: under 12 group and Group A: open groups.

Prominent players who have confirmed their entries for the event include rated players in open group: Sourabh Mhamane(1755), Viresh Sharnarthi(1749), Siddhant Tamhankar(1747), Nirgun Keval(1687), Aaryan Singla(1666). Under 12: Ishan Arjun PY(1248), Vihan Deshmukh(1225),Ariav Kamat(1130),Vedant Kale(1072). The tournament has a total cash prize of Rs. 20,000 /- which consists of Trophy and cash prizes to the open group winner of Rs.12,500/-, while under 12 group winner will get Trophy and Rs.7,500/-.

The Tournament will be conducted by Chief arbiter Nitin Shenvi.
