RPF Reunites 191 Children With Their Parents In Pune Division In Last Six Months

Pune 15th July 2023: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) has rescued 191 runaway children from railway platforms of stations over Pune Division of Central Railway in the last six months. This includes 187 boys and 04 girls who were later reunited with their parents between January and June this year.

According to Railway officials, most of the children came to the railway station without informing their families, due to some fight or some family issues or in search of better life or glamour. They were found loitering on the platforms or near the railway stations by trained Railway Protection Force personnel. Many of them were also found inside the running trains.

The parents expressed their deep gratitude and thankfulness after the students were reunited with their parents. In June 2023 alone, 82 boys were rescued and reunited with their parents by RPF over Pune Division of Central Railway.

RPF of Pune Division also detected and handed over belongings like Mobile, Bag and Laptop etc. of approximately of Rs. 1,42,262/- to the passengers in June 2023. The RPF team apprehended five persons in 5 different mobile theft cases and handed over to the local police in the month of June 2023 for further investigations.

The RPF officials were also involved in taking stringent action on persons involving in illegal ticketing or touting activity. RPF Pune arrested 15 touts in 11 cases between January and June this year.
