VICE ADMIRAL DINESH PRABHAKAR AVSM, NM, VSM (RETD) TAKES OVER AS DISTINGUISHED CHAIR (MARINE ENGINEERING), INS SHIVAJI

Pune, 14th July 2023: Vice Admiral Dinesh Prabhakar, AVSM, NM, VSM (Retd) took over as the Distinguished Chair (Marine Engineering) at INS Shivaji, Lonavala on 13 Jul 23. An alumnus of Sainik School Rewa, National Defence Academy and Naval College of Engineering, he is a doyen in the field of nuclear submarine construction and holds the post of ATVP Chair.

He took over as the third Distinguished Chair (Marine Engineering) succeeding Vice Admiral SKK Krishnan, AVSM, VSM (Retd). As part of the succession ceremony, he reviewed various initiatives and progress made by the Centre of Excellence (Marine Engineering) at INS Shivaji. Further, he addressed the officers and motivated them to keep abreast of technology and work hard towards nation building.

Distinguished Chair (Marine Engineering) is an honorary appointment to provide guidance and technical insight on various aspects of role, functioning and growth in the field of marine engineering whilst giving impetus on quality research and guided mentorship. Distinguished Chair is also responsible to guide the organisation in developing critical thinking, analytical ability, strategic vision and proficiency in marine engineering.
