Pune: OLA Cab Driver Assaulted By Three Bike-Borne Men, Case Registered
Pune 14th July 2023: The Pune City Police have booked three men for allegedly beating a driver working with OLA Cab company over a minor dispute. The driver has lodged a complaint with police against three unidentified men in the matter.
According to police, the victim driver identified as Kapil Sawant (37) a resident of Kalewadi was going to Pashan to drop a passenger. However, as he reached Jangli Maharaj Road (JM Road), three bike-borne alleged that he hit their bike on the road. The driver said that the accused were demanding compensation despite no such accident taking place with his vehicle.
The accused men further assaulted him and took away cash worth Rs 1,500 from his wallet. The victim has now lodged a complaint at Shivajinagar police station under section 392, 506, 504 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) along with section 4(25) of the Arms Act. Further investigation in the matter is underway.
