Pune: Two Men Working With Cable Network Electrocuted To Death In Kothrud, Cable Operator Booked For Negligence
Kothrud 14th July 2023: The Pune City Police have booked a cable operator for negligence in connection with a death of two men due to electrocution. The incident took place on May 4 near Sutardara in Kothrud.
According to police, the deceased were working with the cable operator company N P Cable Networks that was operating without any valid license. The deceased identified as Kundlik Laxman Shinde and Swapnil Shivram Bodake were given a task to provide new connection for a customer. While laying the cable for new connection they came in contact with a high tension power cables and got electrocuted.
Both men sustained serious burn injuries in the incident and they were admitted to hospital for the treatment. However, they succumbed to the burn injuries during the treatment. The family members of the deceased have alleged that the cable operator did not provide them proper safety equipment for the job.
A case in this regard has been registered at Kothrud Police Station against the owner of N P Cable Networks under section 304(a) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The police are investigating further in the matter.
