Security Guards Assault Residents Of Pride World City With Rods, Iron Pipes In Pune

Pune, 13th July 2023: In a disturbing incident at Pride World City in Pune, 15 security guards have been accused of assaulting residents of Kingsbury society. The Dighi police responded swiftly by registering a First Information Report (FIR) and making several arrests.

The victims, identified as Mangesh Matpati, Swapnil Tukaram Deokar, and Chandrasekhar Hanumant Roman, suffered severe injuries to their hands and heads during the attack. Society members claim that the confrontation erupted when society members confronted the security guards regarding a series of chain snatchings, mobile thefts, and instances of women being molested within the society premises. The verbal exchange escalated into a physical altercation, with the security guards resorting to the use of iron rods, iron pipes, and sticks.

Mangesh Matpati, one of the victims has filed a criminal complaint against 15 to 20 security guards employed by AK 47 Seven Security Company, who were stationed at the society. The Dighi police have booked the accused under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including sections 307, 326, 323, and others. Subsequently, they have arrested several security guards and are conducting further investigations into the matter.

A resident of Kingsbury society, speaking on the condition of anonymity, confirmed the brutal assault of three members by security guards armed with rods. The situation escalated when the security guards called for backup, leading to a sustained assault on the residents. Shockingly, the security at the society is still being managed by the builder, despite the grave incident.

Another society member corroborated the rise in incidents of mobile theft and other crimes within their community. In response, the residents had requested the builder to install additional LED lights and deploy bouncers to prevent such incidents from occurring. However, their pleas went unanswered.

The three victims injured in the incident were rushed to the hospital for the treatment. One resident received 11 stitches, while another received 8 stitches. The third victim suffered a fractured on hand. The severity of their injuries underscores the brutality of the assault perpetrated by the security guards.
