Pune, 12th July 2023: Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) has taken a proactive step towards addressing the daily commuting problems faced by passengers in Pune. In a bid to understand these challenges and improve bus services, the newly appointed Chairman and Managing Director, Sachindra Pratap Singh, embarked on a bus journey on Monday.

During his ride, Singh engaged with fellow commuters to discuss their concerns and gather valuable insights for the development of bus services. To encourage citizen participation and foster dialogue, PMPML has launched a novel initiative called “Passenger Day.”

Under this program, Singh boarded a bus at Shivajinagar and traveled from Manapa to Alandi, purchasing a regular ticket priced at Rs. 50. By personally experiencing the difficulties faced by passengers, he gained a firsthand understanding of their needs and concerns.

In an effort to rectify bus service errors, enhance passenger-centric services, and address fare-related issues, PMPML has decided to hold “Passenger Day” every second and fourth Friday of the month. These sessions will take place from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at each depot, providing an opportunity for passengers to voice their grievances and seek guidance.

To make it more convenient for passengers who struggle to lodge complaints or provide feedback due to their work commitments or lack of time, PMPML has established complaint submission points at the main bus depots and ticket centers. This initiative aims to streamline the process and ensure that every passenger’s concerns are heard.

PMPML encourages citizens to actively participate in the ongoing “Passenger Day” program. By engaging with the public and collecting their valuable input, the transportation authority aims to improve the overall bus service experience and meet the needs of the commuting community in Pune.
