Pune: Dial Damini Marshal Squad To Combat Crimes Against Women
Pune, 10th July 2023: Pune City has witnessed a distressing rise in crimes against women, prompting the Damini Marshal Squad to significantly strengthen its presence. The unit has expanded from 14 squads to a formidable total of 41 squads.
Senior Police Inspector Anita More, from the Bharosa Cell and Damini Marshal Squad, stated that in order to ensure comprehensive coverage across the entire Pune city, they have increased the number of squads from 14 to 41. Each squad will now consist of two dedicated Damini officers. This expansion has become necessary due to the alarming surge in crimes against women in Pune. With the enhanced strength, the Damini Marshal Unit now boasts a total of 82 officers committed to safeguarding the women of Pune around the clock.
Since its establishment in 2015, the Damini Marshal Squads have remained unwavering in their dedication to protecting women in Pune City at all times.
