Number Of Ticketless Travellers Reduce In Pune Division Of Railway

Pune 9th July 2023: The Pune Division of Railways has observed a dip in the number of ticketless passengers travelling in the railways this year. According to officials, a total of 79,732 ticketless passengers were caught by the railway officials between April 1 and June 30 this year compared to 1.03 lakh passengers that were caught last year.

 

As per Railway officials, a total of 28,167 ticketless passengers were caught in April this year compared to 36,579 passengers caught last year. Similarly, 30,410 passengers were caught in June last year compared to 25,377 passengers caught in the same month this year.

 

The railway authorities have collected a revenue of Rs 8.22 Crore from ticket checking between April and June this year. Earlier, railways have recorded increase in the number of passengers originating from Pune division. A total of 43.9 lakh passengers originating from various railway stations in the Pune division were recorded in June compared to 33.1 lakh passengers recorded in the same month last year.
