Joint Operation Leads To Arrest Of Drug Trafficker With Rs 89 Lakh Worth Of Heroin Near Indo-Nepal Border

Maharajganj ( India), 29th June 2023: According to a senior police officer, a man aged 24 was apprehended on Thursday near the Indo-Nepal border, carrying 89 grams of heroin with an estimated value of approximately Rs 89 lakh in the global market. The arrest took place as a result of a joint operation conducted by the local police and Sashastra Seema Bal. Salman, hailing from the Maharajganj district, was intercepted near Nautanwa city on the Indo-Nepal border based on a tip-off. The authorities seized the heroin from him, as stated by Deputy Superintendent of Police Anuj Kumar Singh from Nautanwa. The individual in question was en route from India to Nepal to deliver the contraband, which is valued at around Rs 89 lakh in the international market. The officer further mentioned that an ongoing investigation is being conducted to ascertain the source of the heroin and identify other individuals involved in the illicit operation.
