Hinjawadi, 28th June 2023: The Hinjawadi Industries Association (HIA) has urgently appealed to the Pimpri Chinchwad Police to prioritize and improve traffic management in Hinjawadi and the Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park (RGIP). With the gradual reopening of offices in compliance with post-Covid directives for Special Economic Zones (SEZ), traffic problems have resurfaced in these areas, causing significant commuting delays and adding to employee stress levels.

The appeal highlights several pressing issues and proposes potential strategies to alleviate traffic congestion. One key recommendation is the appointment of a dedicated Traffic Police Inspector (PI) in Hinjawadi to serve as a central point of contact for addressing traffic-related complaints. Additionally, the HIA has called for the deployment of 10 Traffic Wardens (TWs), funded by member companies, strategically positioned at crucial intersections within RGIP and Hinjawadi during peak hours. High-traffic locations such as Wipro Phase 2 Circle, Padmabhushan Chowk, Shivaji Chowk, Panchratna Chowk, IOC Petrol Pump Chowk, and Laxmi Chowk have been identified as priority areas.

Furthermore, the HIA emphasizes the importance of regular visits by Traffic Police personnel to these TW points to enhance enforcement efficacy. The association also requests that the 35 TWs provided by Tata Realty and Infrastructure Limited (TRIL) be visibly deployed on the ground. Addressing another major factor contributing to traffic congestion, the HIA urges strict enforcement of no-parking rules in front of popular destinations like Dmart, where vehicles often obstruct the flow of traffic.
