Pune Firefighters Rescue Cleaner Who Fell Into Parking Pit At Ground Floor of Building

Sahakarnagar, 23rd June 2023: At 9:36 am today, a distress call was received at the fire brigade control room regarding an individual who had fallen in pit from a building located at Gnandeep Society, Sahakar Nagar Part 2, Street No. 1.

The individual, identified as Tukaram Dethe, a 60-year-old cleaning worker from Chavan Nagar, Pune, had fallen into a pit on the ground floor of the building. Promptly responding to the call for assistance, a fire engine was dispatched from Janata Fire Station.

Upon arrival, the firefighters observed Dethe in an injured condition, having lost his balance and fallen into the 15 feet deep pit while performing cleaning work on the ground floor of the five-storied Gnandeep Society building. The firefighters established communication with Dethe and utilized a nearby chair to secure a rope. With the aid of a ladder, they successfully pulled him out of the pit within approximately 15 minutes.

Due to injuries sustained on his hand and leg, Dethe was immediately transferred to the hospital for further treatment in a government ambulance (108).

The successful rescue operation involved the participation of firefighters Tandel Sandeep Ghadshi, Mahendra Sakpal, Shailesh Gore, Ashish Jadhav, Vijay Waghmare and Sagar Devkule.
