Pune: Wakad Police Recovers 22 Stolen Two-Wheelers, 2 Persons Arrested

Wakad, 15th June 2023: Pimpri-Chinchwad police commissionerate has successfully arrested two individuals involved in the theft of two-wheelers. The police have also made a significant seizure of 22 stolen two-wheelers, amounting to a total value of 15 lakh 40 thousand rupees.
The arrested accused have been identified as Omkar Dilip Gaware (23) of Pimpale Saudagar and Mahesh Mahadev Danane (21) of Pimpri. It has been also revealed that a minor was also involved in this criminal activity.
Due to the rising incidents of two-wheeler theft within the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate jurisdiction, the police have increased their patrolling efforts across the city. The police were tipped off about the presence of Gaware and Danane, known to be involved in stealing two-wheelers in the Pune district and Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate area, at Thergaon.
Addressing a press conference today, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 2) Dr Kakasaheb Dole said a well-planned trap was set by the Wakad police, leading to the arrest of the suspects. During the subsequent interrogation, the accused confessed to their involvement in a total of 22 crimes. The police have successfully recovered and seized 22 stolen two-wheelers, collectively worth 15 lakh 40 thousand rupees, from the them.
He further informed that the accused had sold some bikes to their relatives and three persons have also been booked in the case for buying stolen vehicles.
