Pune: College Girl From Satara Marries Minor Boy In Alandi, Father Files Child Marriage Case

Alandi, 29th May 2023: In a surprising turn of events, a young girl who had left home claiming to attend an exam took the opportunity to elope with a minor boy. They arrived in Alandi, Pune, where they had tied the knot merely four weeks ago.

The girl’s father has taken legal action against both the boy and his daughter under the Prevention of Child Marriage Act. The marriage ceremony had taken place at the Shri Krishna Mangal office in Alandi.

Hailing from Rahimatpur in Satara district, the couple’s actions have sparked concerns over child marriage. The girl, a second-year college student in Satara, failed to return home after the supposed examination, prompting her father to file a complaint in Satara.

Authorities are investigating the matter to ensure that the appropriate legal actions are taken.
