Koregaon Park, 29th May 2023: The Koregaon park police station has taken action against six individuals, including two women, for their alleged involvement in defrauding the renowned ‘O Hotel’ of Rs 5.45 lakh.

The complaint was filed by Arvind Kumar Singh (48), the hotel manager, leading to the registration of a cheating case.

The accused individuals, identified as Yogesh Bansal, Rahul Sharma, Aditya Gupta (23), hailing from Madhya Pradesh, Pranita Ingale from Beed, Harsh Jethwani from Satara, and Anjali Navani from Jalgaon, have been named in the FIR. It is reported that some of them made their hotel reservations online.

According to Singh’s complaint, the incident occurred between March 2 and March 31. The accused checked into the hotel on March 2 and stayed until March 13. During their 12-day stay, they frequented the Sky Bar restaurant and indulged in consuming expensive liquor. Although they initially paid the bills using credit cards, the manager requested additional documents for billing purposes. However, the accused failed to provide the required documents. On May 13, all the accused individuals checked out without completing the necessary procedures. The manager alleges that their transactions were unlawful and resulted in a loss of Rs 5.45 lakh for the hotel.

Police have booked the accused for offences under sections 419 (punishment for cheating by personation), 420 (cheating), and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code. The investigation into the matter is underway.
