Pune, 27th May 2023: One seat has become vacant after the death of Girish Bapat of Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) MP from Pune Lok Sabha constituency. There was a lot of confusion about whether a Lok Sabha election would be held for this vacant seat. However, speaking in Pune, opposition leader Ajit Pawar has said that the said election will be held.

“With one year left for the Lok Sabha elections 2024, I thought there would be no elections. But according to my insider information, a Pune Lok Sabha by-election will be held,” said Ajit Pawar. Today Ajit Pawar was on a visit to Pune. He has given this information while interacting with the media.

Ajit Pawar said that whatever party has more power in the city, a ticket should be given to the candidate of that party. Who has power in Pune depends on how many people were elected in the previous election.

The Congress has held the Pune Lok Sabha seat for the past several years. Therefore, it is said that this seat will be given to Congress by Mahavikas Aghadi.

A new discussion has started with the claim of Congress and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) in Mahavikas Aghadi. In the assembly by-election, Congress won against BJP after 40 years, so now it is important to see who is given this seat by Mahavikas Aghadi.
