Bhugaon, 22nd May 2023: In the online admission process to be given in private schools under the RTE Act, as many as twelve parents in Bhugaon, Mulshi taluka have added bogus documents regarding the lease of accommodation. The villagers have demanded that the houses in Hinjewadi, Maan, and Marunji areas should also be inspected like it was in Bhugaon.

Agents have also increased in the admission process of RTE and due to the significant progress of Panchayat Samiti officials and employees, the leaders of various parties and rich people are smitten with this scheme.

According to the Right to Schools Act, 25 per cent of the number of seats are reserved for free admission in private unaided schools designated for students from disadvantaged and weaker sections. For this, if the parents do not own the house, it is mandatory to register the tenancy agreement with the secondary registrar’s office. The residence of the parent attaching the copy of the tenancy agreement is verified.

However, Group Education officer K D Bhujbal received complaints that most of the parents are signing bogus tenancy agreements in the secondary registrar’s office in Bhugaon. Accordingly, Bhujbal ordered the head of the centre to go and verify the address of the tenancy agreement of the parents who have filled out the application form through RTE. In Bhugaon alone, twelve tenancy agreements were found to be bogus during the investigation. Bhujbal cancelled the admission of all of them.

Like Bhugaon, bogus rent contracts have been going on for many years in Hinjewadi, Maan, Marunji, Tathawade, and Bavdhan. Therefore, apart from Bhugaon, the citizens have expected that the tenancy agreement in other villages should be checked by visiting the houses.
