Pune plays important role in India’s economic growth: SAIF Zone official
Pune, May 19, 2023: A senior official of the Sharjah International Airport Free Zone (SAIF Zone), United Arab Emirates, has said Pune plays an important role in the economic growth of India and Maharashtra and SAIF Zone can provide a good platform to businesses from the city, which are looking to expand.
“Pune being the second-largest city in Maharashtra after Mumbai plays an important role in the economic and industrial growth of the state and the country. Being a startup hub in recent years with information technology (IT), engineering and automotive companies sprouting, there are lots of small and big business looking to expand their business globally and Sharjah Airport International Free Zone (SAIF ZONE), a Sharjah Government Authority, can provide them a very good platform for the same,” said Ali Mohamed Almutawa, Deputy Director, Sales, SAIF Zone.
The SAIF delegation met Pune-based companies from across sectors like Information Technology (IT), automotive, food processing and chemicals, in their recent two-day visit to the city. The meetings were organized by Crescendo Worldwide Pvt Ltd, an advisory company, having their offices at Pune, Hannover and Dubai. The meetings in Pune took place at Hotel Conrad on Mangaldas Road.
Atul Kaluskar, Director of Crescendo informed that as the next step, they will be taking a delegation of a few select companies to SAIF Zone, Sharjah, UAE in the next month.
Ali Mohamed Almutawa said the initial response received by the SAIF Zone delegation was very encouraging and many entrepreneurs are looking to expand their businesses abroad and have already shown their keen interest.
The SAIF Zone official also said that as far as business expansion was concerned, the United Arab Emirates is the safest country, which extends supportive business policies with less and more speedy documentation for business formation and operations.
There are various benefits of investing in SAIF Zone including access to the entire global market and residence visas for investors and employees of the free zone companies. The SAIF Zone is focusing on giving benefits to selected companies from sectors like FMCG, Textile and Fabrics, Automotive Parts Manufacturers, Mining and Metals, Electronics and Electrical, Healthcare, Information Technology (IT) /Information Communications Technology, Precious Stones and Gems.
