Pune: Two Traffic Cops Suspended For Accepting Bribes From Motorists
Pune, 18th May 2023: In a recent incident at Gangadham – Aai Mata Mandir Road, under the jurisdiction of the Swargate Traffic Division, two traffic police officers were found guilty of not taking appropriate action against violators and accepting bribes. The Deputy Commissioner of Police, Vijaykumar Magar, took strict action and suspended the officers involved.
The suspended officers have been identified as Police Constable Balu Dada Yede and Police Sub-Inspector Gaurav Ramesh Ubhe. The suspension came after a video surfaced on Twitter on May 17, where it was revealed that the traffic police officers were accepting bribes from motorists in exchange for not enforcing traffic regulations.
The footage clearly shows that the officers were not issuing any kind of receipts or documents to the motorists while accepting money. This unethical behavior raised serious concerns, leading to the immediate suspension of the two officers by Deputy Commissioner Vijaykumar Magar.
