Husband Kills Wife in Fit of Anger Over Lunch Box, Arrested in Pune
Pune, 15th May 2023: A husband has been taken into custody by Kondhwa police after he allegedly beat his wife to death in a fit of rage over not being given a lunch box. The tragic incident occurred on May 13 at approximately 8 am in the Hole Vasti of Undri.
The victim has been identified as Sheetal Somnath Pandagale, a 27-year-old resident of Undri. The accused, Somnath Mahadev Pandagale, 30, has been apprehended by the authorities.
According to the police investigation, Somnath had a history of displaying aggressive behavior. He and Sheetal were residing in a rented room in the Hole Vasti area of Undri. On the fateful day, as Somnath was preparing to leave for work, he confronted Sheetal for not preparing his lunch box. The argument escalated, leading to a violent altercation. Somnath viciously attacked Sheetal with a stick, causing her to lose consciousness.
Concerned relatives rushed Sheetal to Sassoon Hospital, hoping for her recovery. However, the doctors pronounced her dead upon arrival. Based on the medical report confirming the cause of death as severe physical assault, the police registered a case of murder against Somnath.
