Talegaon, 14th May 2023: The arrested accused have made a shocking confession to the police, revealing that they had a beer party after the murder of Kishore Aware (48), the president of Janaseva Vikas Samiti in Talegaon Dabhade. The Pimpri-Chinchwad police discovered this information during their investigation.

The police have arrested Shyam Nigadkar, Praveen alias Raghunath Dhotre, Adesh Dhotre, Nana alias Sandeep Vitthal More, and Shinu Reddy in connection with the murder, described as a contract killing. However, the mastermind is yet to be named by the police.

Pimpri-Chinchwad Police ACP Padmakar Ghanwat stated that all five accused were presented before the Vadgaon-Maval court on Saturday and have been remanded in police custody until May 20.

One of the accused, Nigadkar, was previously arrested in the Gorakh murder case 25 years ago when he was a minor. After being released from that case, he had been residing in the Talegaon Dabhade area. Recently, he became involved in Kishore Aware’s murder, leading the police to track him down.

On the day of the murder (May 12), Shyam and Praveen forcibly took a bank employee’s bike at gunpoint, while Nana and Shinu Reddy snatched another citizen’s bike and fled. After the murder, all the accused were planning to meet at Somatne Phata. Adesh Dhotre was supposed to take them to a safe resort in his car. However, their plans went awry, and each of the accused went in different directions.

Shyam and Dhotre headed to the Ghoravadi railway station area on a two-wheeler. There, they abandoned the bike and walked through the fields to reach their relatives’ house in Navlakh Umbre village. However, the police had already reached the village and arrested both of them on Friday evening.

Meanwhile, Nana and Shinu were roaming in the Maval area on a two-wheeler. They eventually bought beer from a wine shop near Somatne Phata and had a party. Afterwards, Shinu left Nana at the chowk, saying he would meet his mother. When Nana did not return after an hour, he hitched a ride on a tempo and reached Dehuroad railway station. He then boarded a midnight train to Pune.

Shyam and Dhotre were arrested by Police Inspector Arvind Pawar and the staff of the Anti-Extortion Squad of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Crime Branch. Upon their arrest, they provided information to the police, leading to the arrest of others involved.

In another development, policeman Sachin Ahivale of the Pune Police’s anti-extortion squad, received information that Nana was in the Karvenagar area in Pune. Acting on this tip, Police Inspector Pratap Mankar, along with Shailesh Surve and other officers, apprehended Nana.

Shinu Reddy was also arrested by the Pimpri-Chinchwad police on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Kishore Aware’s family, including his mother Sulochana Aware, who is a former mayor of Talegaon Dabhade Nagar Parishad, have accused NCP MLA Sunil Shelke, his brother Sudhakar Shelke, Shyam Nigadkar, and Sandeep Garade of plotting the murder with the help of their associates.

Based on a complaint from Aware’s mother, Talegaon police station has registered an FIR against MLA Shelke and six others including Nigadkar.

MLA Shelke addressed the allegations against him during a press conference held on Saturday, vehemently denying any involvement in the crime. He stated, “Throughout my long political career, I have remained dedicated to serving the people and upholding non-violence. I have never caused harm to anyone.” Shelke emphasized that he is not the type of person who supports or advocates violence in any form.

Highlighting his previous collaboration with Kishore Aware, Shelke acknowledged that while they may have had differences on certain matters, they have always maintained a respectful relationship based on mutual understanding. He emphasized that despite any disparities, they have never had differences of opinion.
