Hadapsar, 13th May 2023: At Hadapsar railway station, three new buildings, a waiting room for passengers, a retiring room for accommodation, food stalls, a small canteen, spacious parking, fully covered shed on the platform will be available to the passengers.

The Railway Board has sanctioned a fund of Rs 136 crore for Hadapsar Terminal. The development work of the station will start in the next few days. Also, a land worth Rs 50 crore will be acquired from this fund.

It is necessary to develop the Hadapsar Terminal to reduce the stress on Pune Railway Station. Earlier, Rs 17 crore was demanded, but for half a hectare of land alone, an expenditure of Rs 50 crore is expected. Keeping this in mind, the Pune Railway Administration had given a revised proposal of Rs 136 crores to the Railway Board. It was approved by Railway Board Chairman Anil Kumar Lahoti. Therefore, the problem of the Hadapsar terminal will be resolved.

The Gati-Shakti unit has been set up to carry out the work to clear the stalled railway projects. Now this unit is going to develop the Hadapsar terminal. Along with the development of the station, the construction of two new stabling lines, signaling system, and other works are to be done.

The state government estimates that the railway administration is going to take over the land in 10 pieces. After the completion of the land acquisition process, it will take four to five months for the land to be taken over by the Railways. However, in the meantime, the railway administration is going to start the work on passenger facilities.

Following works to be done are as follows:

1. Three new buildings at the station consisting of the waiting room, retiring room, clock room for passengers.

2. Demolition of railway employees’ houses in front of the station and parking lot along with the road.

3. RRI Cabin, as well as Station Manager’s Office.

4. Efforts to purchase land for the stabling line.

5. A road will be constructed near the embankment towards Daund. So the station will have access from both sides.

6. As there will be access to the station from the other side, there will be no need for passengers to come around using the Kharadi bridge. This will save the time of passengers.

7. Toilets within waiting rooms, and drinking water facility at the station.

8. Parking for passenger vehicles.

9. Escalator or lift at the station.

10. Covering the entire balcony shed.

11. Food stalls, restaurants.
