Unauthorized Vendors Apprehended at Pune Railway Station, Fined Rs 4900 in Ongoing Campaign

Pune, 11th May 2023: Pune Railway Division is constantly striving to provide quality food and proper catering services to its passengers.
In this sequence, under the guidance of Divisional Railway Manager Indu Dubey, Additional Divisional Railway Manager Brijesh Kumar Singh and Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Dr Milind Hirve and under the leadership of Assistant Commercial Manager Ajay Kumar, ticket checking, catering inspector staff and Railway Protection Force (RPF) team conducted a continued campaign on Wednesday at Pune station.
Under this, seven unauthorized vendors were handed over to the Railway Protection Force for action and 48 bottles of unauthorized water were also seized. All these unauthorized vendors were found selling unauthorized catering items and unauthorized bottled water at the Pune station. All unauthorized vendors were fined Rs 4900 by the Railway Court.
The Department of Commerce is regularly running a campaign against unauthorized vendors and action will continue in the future, officials said.
Railway Administration has requested passengers to purchase food items only from food stalls and vendors authorized by Railways.
