Pune: Raj Thackeray Inaugurates Pune International Cartoon Festival, Draws Caricature of Ajit Pawar
Pune, 5th May 2023: The Yuva Samvad Social Society organized the first edition of the Pune International Cartoon Festival in Peshwa City to commemorate World Cartoonist Day on May 5. The event was graced by prominent political figure and cartoonist, Raj Thackeray, who drew a caricature of Ajit Pawar during the festival’s inauguration.
In his address, Thackeray praised the artistic works on display and expressed his admiration for his fellow cartoonists. “I wanted to be here today, on World Cartoonist Day, to celebrate the wonderful pictures that are being showcased. Though I seldom get the chance to sketch due to my busy schedule, the images in my head often translate into my speeches. I congratulate my fellow cartoonists on their vision and artwork,” he stated. Regarding his caricature of Pawar, Thackeray humbly added, “I am not accustomed to drawing cartoons in front of others, so I made no judgments today,” before ending his speech with a grin.
