Maharashtra Government Plans New Highway Linking Shirur, Karjat, and Pune
Pune, 5th May 2023: A new highway that will connect Shirur to Karjat via Pune is in the works, with a total length of approximately 110 kilometers and a projected cost of around Rs. 10,000 crore. The project is expected to boost trade and commerce in the region, improve transportation infrastructure, and create jobs and economic activity.
The highway will be constructed in two phases, with the first phase involving the construction of a four-lane highway spanning roughly 60 kilometers, and the second phase involving the construction of a six-lane highway spanning the remaining 50 kilometers.
