Pune: Scorpio SUV Narrowly Escapes After Falling Into Ravine On Varandha Ghat Road, 6 Passengers Survive
Pune, 3rd May 2023: A Scorpio SUV traveling from Pandharpur to Mahad met with an accident in Varandha Ghat, near Warwand village, due to a miscalculation of the road. The SUV fell into a ravine on the side of the road, but fortunately, all six passengers in the vehicle managed to escape after the SUV got stuck in the bushes.
The accident occurred around 5 am, and the cause of the mishap was reportedly the lack of guardrails on the side of the road and the narrow side lane at some places. While the road has been tarred, allowing for increased speeds, the absence of proper safety measures has made the route particularly prone to accidents.
Varandha Ghat, located on the road from Pune to Bhor via Mahad, is known for its winding roads and scenic views. However, the area has seen several accidents in recent times due to the narrow and poorly maintained roads.
Authorities have been urged to take necessary steps to improve the safety measures in the area and avoid such accidents in the future.
