Pune Police Instructs Towing Van Contractor to Dismiss Workers Over Misconduct
Pune, 3rd May 2023: The traffic branch of Pune city police has taken strict action against the towing van contractor after receiving complaints regarding the behavior of its workers towards motorists. The contractor has been instructed to dismiss three workers who have been found guilty of using profanity while towing vehicles on the road.
In addition, towing van contractors have been reminded of the regulations they must follow, and a copy of the rules has been sent to them once again.
It has been reported that workers in towing vehicles have been clashing with motorists and obstructing the flow of traffic on the road. There have been cases where minor accidents have occurred due to the impact of the iron nets on bikers. It is important to note that citizens should not directly confront workers on the towing van, but instead make a complaint to senior officials of the traffic police, officials said.
Following a scuffle between a shopkeeper and a towing van worker who was lifting a two-wheeler in front of a shop in the Hadapsar area, the senior officials of the traffic police have given a strict warning to the towing van contractors. The workers on the towing vans who lift vehicles have been ordered to follow the rules set by the traffic police while taking action.
The traffic police have made it clear that any breach of the rules by the towing van workers will result in strict action being taken against them.
This move has been welcomed by the citizens of Pune, who have been complaining about the behavior of the towing van workers for some time.
