Pune: Teenager Among Two Arrested In Connection With Gautami Patil’s Viral Video
Pune, 3rd May 2023: Gautami Patil, a rising star in the Maharashtra entertainment industry, has been embroiled in controversy in recent months. Criticized for her provocative dance moves and comments on social and political issues, Gautami has been a lightning rod for controversy.
However, on February 24, something happened that caused even her detractors to rally to her side: a video of Gautami changing her clothes was circulated on social media. Now, Pune police have arrested one of the individuals responsible for creating and disseminating the video.
According to Vimantal police station officials, a 17-year-old boy and his accomplice Ayush Amrit Kanse (21) of Satara district have been detained in connection with the video. The boy was taken into custody in Ahmednagar district, following a complaint by Gautami.
The action was taken by a team comprising Senior Police Inspector Vilas Sonde, Police Inspector (Crime) Sangita Mali, ASI Avinash Shewale,
police personnel Kiran Khude, Rehan Pathan, Ankush Jogdand, Dadasaheb Barde, Asma Sheikh, Renuka Bhogavade and Priyanka Shinde.
Since the video’s release, many have suggested that it was created with the intention of defaming Gautami. In an interview with a YouTube channel, Gautami spoke out against those responsible for the video’s circulation. “You don’t care, but people say to me, you will have mothers and sisters at home too, so didn’t they think about doing this?” Gautami asked rhetorically. The emotional toll of the video was evident in her voice, and she revealed that she had shown the video to her mother, who was understandably upset.
Despite the controversy, Gautami’s popularity has not waned. She has a new movie, ‘Ghungru’, set to release soon. Her supporters hope that the arrest of the accused responsible for the video will send a message that such behavior will not be tolerated.
