Pune, 25th April 2023: The inauguration of the new flyover constructed by the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) at NDA Chowk (Chandni Chowk) is likely to be delayed. The necessary materials for the girders of this bridge are not yet available. Therefore, this bridge cannot be inaugurated on 1st May as scheduled.

Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari announced that the inauguration of the new flyover and roads at NDA Chowk will be held on 1st May.

However, the tools required for the work of the girders to be laid for the flyover were not available in time. As a result, the work on the bridge will continue for a few more days.

Pillars have been lifted for this flyover and some of the girders to be cast on the pillars are left to be concreted. The work has come to a standstill as the required tools were not available in time. It was clarified by NHAI that concreting of the remaining girders will be started after these tools are available.

The work of the flyover at NDA Chowk and its roads is 90 per cent complete. Only the work of the girder and alternative road are remaining.

Accordingly, planning is underway to close the traffic on this road for two hours before laying the girder. It is being planned to divert the traffic on this route through alternative roads.

The work of the subway to Mulshi has been completed. After the road was closed and the traffic was diverted to an alternative road during the work of laying the girder, correspondence has been sent to the traffic police to divert the traffic on the road to avoid traffic jams on these roads. It was clarified by NHAI that a meeting will be held in the coming week and further decisions will be taken.
