Uttarakhand, 19th April 2023: Starting on April 25, the annual pilgrimage to the Himalayan shrine in Uttarakhand is limited to 13,000 visitors per day.

According to Rudraprayag District Magistrate (DM) Mayur Dikshit, who spoke at a press conference held on Tuesday (April 18), the government has determined the daily limit this time and has also implemented a token system for the comfort of the pilgrims.

The DM stated that these are intended to ensure the smooth running of the yatra.

In a joint news conference, Dikshit and Rudraprayag Superintendent of Police (SP) Vishakha Ashok Bhadane discussed the preparations for the next yatra.

With the deployment of 22 doctors and an equivalent number of pharmacists along the Yatra route, the pilgrims would receive greater medical treatment this time.

According to Dikshit, there will be 12 medical relief points set up along the road, with three doctors and two orthopedic surgeons among them.

Three ambulances have been kept in reserve out of the six that have been deployed along the route, and the government has also planned for an air ambulance in case of an emergency.

The Kedarnath Nagar Panchayat has been tasked with maintaining the cleanliness of the temple grounds, while Sulabh International is in charge of maintaining cleanliness along the yatra path.
