Pune, 18th April 2023: Tata Motors, the Indian multinational automotive manufacturing company, has released a statement in reference to a thermal incident that occurred on April 16, 2023, in Pune, Katraj. According to the statement, all occupants of the vehicle are safe.

A team of technical experts has completed a detailed investigation into the incident and concluded that the left headlamps of the vehicle had been replaced at an unauthorized workshop. Over time, this resulted in a short and trapped heat, caused by shortcomings in the fitment and repair process at the unauthorized workshop. This ultimately led to an electrical malfunction in the headlamp area, causing the thermal incident. The affected area was found to be concentrated only in the zone of repairs carried out.

Tata Motors has emphasized the importance of using on-spec components, accessories, and spare parts fitted at authorized Tata Motors workshops to avoid such incidents. The company remains committed to ensuring the safety of its users and its products.

The company has also assured customers that it is providing all the necessary support to the affected customer.
