CBI ARRESTS A SUB-INSPECTOR OF RPF IN A BRIBERY CASE

The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested a Sub-Inspector, Railway Protection Force, Central Railway, Pune for demanding & accepting a bribe of Rs. 2,000/- from the complainant.

A case was registered U/s 7 of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 on a complaint against a Sub-Inspector, Railway Protection Force (RPF), Central Railway, Pune.  It was alleged that the Sub-Inspector, demanded a bribe of Rs.2,000/- from the complainant to allow him to carry his business in railway. CBI laid a trap and caught the Sub-Inspector red handed while accepting a bribe of Rs.2,000/- from the complainant. Searches were conducted at the office & residential premises of the accused at Pune which led to recovery of documents relating to property and two Bank accounts.

The arrested accused is being produced today before the Special Judge, CBI Cases, Pune.
