Pune: Nyati Grandeur Society Under Scanner For Alleged Misuse Of Funds
Undri, 17th April 2023: Office Bearers of Nyati Grandeur Society in Undri, Pune have been accused of illegally taking funds without the approval of a General Body (GB) resolution or Managing Committee (MC) meeting.
A case was filed by a member of the Management Committee, Shekhar Dhotre on August 30, 2022. Colonel Vikram Taneja, a veteran and Vishesh Seva medal recipient, has been supporting Dhotre in the case. He has been diligently attending court dates, drafting responses, and has even had a meeting with Anil Kawade, the head of the Maharashtra Co-operative Department.
The Treasurer of the society, Sanket Kulkarni, and Secretary Vishwajit Menbudale, signed the cheques without Chairman Rajesh Warlekar’s approval. However, Warlekar claimed that he was not aware of the illegal activity. In the subsequent hearing, Kiran Mohan, another MC member, presented a false document where minutes of meetings (MOM) were pasted on one page, and the signatures of MC members were pasted on the other page. This forged document was presented in court, which is a crime punishable by law.
The case aims to remove the entire committee for obstructing a whistle-blower and endorsing illicit practices in the society office. The case has additionally submitted a video recording of certain members verbally abusing Shekhar Dhotre as evidence to Deputy Registrar, IAS Anil Kawade, who has acknowledged and considered it.
The Deputy Registrar of zone 4, D S Housare, has served a notice to the office bearers. The case is being handled by Senior Advocate Santosh Deshpande and his assistant Vikram Shinde, representing Shekhar Dhotre. It is important to note that Shekhar Dhotre is the “Aam Aadmi Party IT head “ for Pune city and is fighting for various social causes like clean and free PMC piped water for societies, tanker-free societies, sports grounds for children, free Wi-Fi for residents, among others.
