Pune Celebrates Dr Ambedkar Jayanti with 5000 Kg of Misal and Buttermilk for One Lakh Citizens

Pune, 14th April 2023: On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, the city of Pune celebrated by distributing five thousand kilos of misal and buttermilk to one lakh citizens.

The distribution was organized by the Krantisurya Mahatma Jyotiba Phule and Bharat Ratna Dr. Ambedkar Jayanti Committee near the collector’s office in the presence of Guardian Minister Chandrakant Patil and city presidents and heads of all political parties in Pune. The famous chef Vishnu Manohar prepared the misal and buttermilk, with preparations starting as early as 3 am on the day of the event.

The misal and buttermilk were cooked in a large cauldron, with all the necessary ingredients and spices added at 8 am in the morning. The misal was distributed to all the citizens who came to greet Dr Ambedkar. In addition to the misal, a total of ten thousand kilos of millet were also distributed on the occasion.

To prepare 5000 kg of misal, 500 kg of Matki, 300 kg of onion, 100 kg of ginger, 100 kg of garlic, 350 kg of oil, 130 kg of Misal Masala, 25 kg of red chilli powder, 25 kg of turmeric powder, 20 kg of salt, 70 kg of coconut, 5 kg of tamal patra, 1200 kg of farsan, 4000 liters of water, and 50 judi of coriander were used. The buttermilk was made with a large amount of curd, salt, coriander, and other ingredients.

The event was a success and brought joy to the citizens of Pune on this special occasion.
