Pune: 12-year-old boy drowns in Khadkawasla Canal
Pune, 13th April 2023: A 12-year-old boy from Vadgaon Budruk drowned while swimming with friends in Khadkawasla Canal on Wednesday afternoon. The boy was identified as Lokesh Praveen Yewle.
According to his friends, the incident occurred around 2 PM, and emergency services were immediately alerted. Firefighters, the Pune Municipal Corporation, and the Sinhagad Police arrived on the spot and began searching for the boy.
However, they were unable to locate him until after dark. The search continued throughout the night and resumed the following day but yielded no results.
The boy’s body was finally recovered by firefighters and the Sinhagad police at around 4 PM on Thursday.
