Vimannagar, 6th April 2023: The negligence of the Road Department has left the city road in a deplorable condition, resulting in frequent accidents. The road has been dug up for 15 days, leaving the asphalt and concrete roads at uneven levels, which poses a severe risk to motorists. Citizens are now questioning whether the potholes are “death traps” or not.

The area between Tata Guard Room Chowk to Vimannagar Chowk has gravel scattered all over after the rain and water channels were laid. Both the Sewage and Water Supply Departments have also shown negligence in their work. Despite the Road Department’s responsibility to restore the road from stakeholders after work, the three departments are blaming each other.

The Road Department uprooted the road in Somanathnagar, Sopannagar area to asphalt the road, but even after fifteen days, no asphalting has been done. This has resulted in uneven levels of asphalt and cement roads, leaving vertical pits of about six inches in many places, which often cause accidents.
