Pune Police Crime Branch Arrests Two Individuals For Drug Trafficking, Seizes Drugs Worth Rs 46 Lakh

Pune, 6th April 2023: The Anti-Narcotics Squad of the Pune Police Crime Branch has arrested two individuals in Kondhwa, Pune, for selling drugs.
The seized drugs were valued at Rs 46 lakh and included brown sugar and Catha Edulis Khat from Yemen.

The police team got information that Shahid Akhtar Hussain Sheikh, a resident of Inamnagar, Kondhwa Budruk, was in possession of drugs.
A police team laid a trap and caught Sheikh in the Gali No. 15 area of Inamnagar. A search of his bag revealed brown sugar with a value of Rs 40 lakh 44 thousand 800.

The team included Senior Police Inspector Sunil Thopte, Sub-Inspector Shubhangi Narke, and Shivaji Ghule, Chetan Gaikwad, Santosh Deshpande, Sandeep Jadhav, Disha Khewalkar, Yogesh Mandhare, Yuvraj Kamble, Dinesh Bastewad.

In another case, the Anti-Narcotics Squad arrested Laxman Polaram Sirvi for selling Yemeni drug Catha Idulis Khat and foreign-made cigarettes in the Kondhwa area. Items valued at Rs 5 lakh 56 thousand 640, including Catha Idulis Khat and foreign-made cigarettes, were seized from him.

Sirvi, a resident of Manish Park, Kondhwa and a native of Satlana, Jodhpur, district of Rajasthan, was taken into custody.

The investigation was done under the guidance of ACP Sunil Pawar and Senior Police Inspector Vinayak Gaikwad. The team included API Laxman Dhengle, Shailja Jankar and police personnel Vishal Shinde, Manoj Salunke, Sujit Wadekar, Padurang Pawar, Rahul Joshi and Vishal Dalvi.
