Pune Traffic Police Issues Fines to 392 Police Vehicles and 160 Government Officials’ Vehicles for Traffic Violations
Pune, 4th April 2023: The Pune traffic police have issued online challans to 392 police vehicles and 160 government officials’ vehicles for violating traffic rules.
According to recent data posted on the Pune traffic police’s official Twitter handle, between January and March 26 this year, the department prosecuted 1,396 people for riding triple seats, 642 for driving on the wrong side of the road, 12,444 for jumping signals, 5,734 for not following zebra crossing rules, 2,776 for changing silencers, and 4,616 for breaking heavy vehicle rules.
Additionally, the data reveals that 3,362 people were fined for using tinted glass on vehicle windows, and 4,843 were fined for using fancy number plates on bikes. The fines have not been limited to common people as 30 PMPML buses, 151 vehicles belonging to advocates and doctors, 35 armed forces vehicles, and 27 media person’s vehicles were also fined during the same period.
