Pune: Ola Cab Driver Booked For Sexually Harassing Woman Passenger
Pune, 3rd April 2023: A distressing incident has been reported where a woman passenger was sexually assaulted by an Ola cab driver. The accused, Sriram Madhukar Gharbude (age 32), has been charged with sexual assault by the Hadapsar police station.
As per the complaint filed by the 34-year-old woman techie at Hadapsar police station, she had booked an Ola cab from Magarpatta City area to the office of a private company on Senapati Bapat Road. The incident took place around 9 am on March 30.
According to police, during the ride, the cab driver Gharbude adjusted the rearview mirror to stare at the female passenger and then started behaving in an inappropriate and offensive manner. He had stopped the cab under the pretext of answering nature’s call and exposed himself.
The woman immediately lodged a complaint after discussing it with her family.
Police sub-inspector Sarika Jagtap is currently investigating the case.
