Hadapsar, 27th March 2023: MLA Chetan Tupe of Hadapsar constituency has brought up a concerning issue in the Legislative Assembly. He has stated that the people of Keshavnagar are facing issues due to the arbitrary administration of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC).

The residents of Keshavnagar are not receiving basic municipal facilities such as roads, water, and proper traffic management. As a result, the residents of Keshav Nagar have formed a forum and initiated a movement to cease paying Pune Municipal Corporation Tax as they feel that they are not receiving any benefits.

MLA Tupe has questioned the administration of Pune Municipal Corporation and has urged the state government to order the corporation to address the backlog and provide basic facilities to Keshavnagar. He has emphasized that it is the responsibility of the corporation to provide the necessary amenities to the citizens who are paying their taxes honestly.

“The people of Keshavnagar, like any other citizen of Pune, are honestly paying taxes, and it is the responsibility of the Pune Municipal Corporation to provide them with basic amenities in return. The state government needs to take appropriate action to ensure that the people of Keshavnagar receive the necessary facilities, and their tax payments are justified,” said MLA Tupe.

Chaitanya Sharma, a resident and member of Keshav Nagar Welfare Association, expressed his appreciation for the matter being brought to attention. The residents have been struggling to draw the attention of authorities and the government to their situation for a long time. He hopes that this action will not merely be in words and on paper, but that they will receive basic necessities such as roads, water, reduced traffic congestion, and lighting.
