Bopodi, 25th March 2023: An incident has come to light that a ten-year-old girl died after being electrocuted by a power line hanging on the roof of the house. This incident took place in the Bopodi area of Pune.

The police have registered a case against the house owner who is responsible for this incident. The name of the deceased girl is Shubhra Ohal (10). A case has been registered against Mehmuddin Magdoom, a resident of Bopodi. Ganesh Arvind Ohal has lodged a complaint with the Khadki police station.

The police informed that Ganesh Ohal has been residing in Pawle Chawl in Bopodi for many days and is a tenant of Magdoom.

Reportedly, Shubhra went to the roof of the house. At that time, high-pressure power lines were hanging on the roof of that house. Before she could react, she was electrocuted by the carrier wire. She collapsed and was seriously injured. Shubhra was admitted to Sassoon Hospital in Pune. But the police stated that she died before treatment.

Magdoom had built a two-storied house in this area. A high power line of Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) passed over the house he built and the said wire was hanging on the rooftop. Magdoom carried out the illegal construction despite knowing that coming in contact with the high-voltage power line could cause a serious accident. Therefore, Shubhra’s father Ganesh Ohal has said in the complaint that the accident happened due to the irresponsibility of the house owner.
