Pune, 3rd March 2023: Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) has announced that women will be able to travel for free on the 8th of every month on its ‘Tejaswini’ bus service. The decision was taken in a board of directors meeting on March 6, 2019, in response to the demand for free travel for women on International Women’s Day.

Initially, PMPML had launched 28 Tejaswini buses exclusively for women on 23 different routes. However, due to low response from women passengers during the COVID-19 pandemic, these buses were temporarily closed. Now, with the pandemic situation improving and full-capacity bus operations being resumed on all routes, PMPML has restarted the Tejaswini buses at full capacity.

Starting from March 8, 2023, women can travel for free on the ‘Tejaswini’ bus service on the 8th of every month. PMPML is encouraging women to take advantage of this service.
