Pune: Man Killed After Refusing To Give Money To Robbers

Katraj, 1st March 2023: A 23-year-old laborer, Mahadev Nagnath Chendke, was brutally beaten to death with bamboo in the Katraj area while he was protesting a robbery.

Police have arrested Pradeep Hiralal Shinde (19), a resident of Kakavasti in Kondhwa, and also booked his 14-year-old minor accomplice.

The incident took place on Monday around 8:30 pm in Chaitanyanagar area of Dhankawadi. Chendke, a resident of Khopdenagar in Katraj, was intercepted by the duo, who demanded money from him. After he refused, they attacked him with bamboo. Chendke was seriously injured and was rushed to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The Bharti Vidyapeeth police station lodged a complaint, and the police launched an investigation, which led to the arrest of Shinde. Assistant Police Inspector Tawde is investigating the case.
