Pune: Voters Can Use Aadhaar, PAN, and Other IDs to Vote, says Election Commission

Pune, 24th February 2023: The upcoming voting for Kasba Peth and Chinchwad Assembly constituencies in Pune district is scheduled for February 26 (Sunday).

According to the Election Commission, if any voter does not have a voter photo identity card, they can provide one of the twelve documents specified by the Commission to establish their identity.

The acceptable documents for voting include Aadhaar cards, MGNREGA job cards, passbooks containing photos from banks/post offices, health insurance smart cards, driver’s licenses, PAN cards, National Population Registration smart cards, Indian passports, retirement documents with photos, state/central government-issued identity cards, official identity cards issued to MPs, MLAs, or the unique disability ID issued by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment of the Central Government.

The Election Commission has instructed to accept the voter photo identity or one of the 12 proofs if the voter’s identity is not confirmed by the voter list. For voters living abroad, they will need to present their original Indian passport as proof of identity.
