Income Tax Department Raids Mumbai And Delhi Offices Of BBC

Mumbai, 14th February 2023: Amid the controversy and uproar about the BBC documentary on Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi, the BBC offices in Mumbai and Delhi were raided by the tax department today morning. Reportedly, many employees have been asked to return home, and some of their mobile phones have been seized.

A petition had been filed in the Supreme Court (SC) looking for a complete ban on the BBC and its productions. However, the SC deemed the petition “completely misconceived”. Meanwhile, the documentary and the decision to ban it have received mixed responses from the public and authorities.
