Pune: Special Squad Of Trained Police Patrol With Pistol Rather Than Stick

Pune, 8th February 2023: Police on patrol will be provided with pistols due to the terror caused by the Koyta gang in different parts of the city and the incidents of attacks on the police.

Police Commissioner Retesh Kumaarr has decided to provide special training to the police who will immediately reach the spot and take action in case of any untoward incident.

Beat Marshals patrol day and night in different parts of the city. There have been cases of attacks on the police who reached the spot after a serious incident. In this background, pistols and modern bikes will be provided to the patrolling police.

Last month, there was an incident where a policeman was stabbed in the Vishrantwadi area after he asked to close down a restaurant selling Chinese food. The policeman was seriously injured in this incident.

There have been incidents of rioting in crowded areas of the city during the day. As the patrolling policemen have sticks, the policemen are attacked by the criminals. It has been decided to provide pistols to the police to prevent such incidents. 125 state-of-the-art two-wheelers will be made available for patrolling. Two policemen will patrol on a bike. 250 policemen patrolling different parts of the city have been given special training. The city will soon be patrolled by a team of trained police.

If the number of police patrols on the streets increases, criminals and thieves get scared. Police Commissioner Retesh Kumaarr said that the patrolling police personnel of every police station in the city will be provided with modern bikes along with pistols.
