Khadki, Shivajinagar, Hadapsar Railway Stations To Be Developed As Alternative For Pune Station : Girish Bapat
Pune, 6th February 2023: “Pune Shivajinagar-Talegaon-Lonavala Local Service” was started today from Shivajinagar Railway Station. MP Girish Bapat inaugurated this service by attending online. On this occasion, MLA Siddharth Shirole, MLA Sunil Kamble, Gaurav Bapat and other officials, as well as railway officials, were present at Shivajinagar railway station.
Speaking on the occasion, Bapat said that Pune city and its suburbs are also developing rapidly and only the Pune railway station is located in the central part of the city for citizens to travel by train. Therefore, there is huge pressure on this station, traffic congestion, stress on the railway and police administration, as well as delay in reaching the desired destination on time and financial and mental hardships faced by the citizens at this place. He added, “Since this stress on Pune station will continue to increase in the future, I have been continuously demanding that Khadki, Shivajinagar, and Hadapsar railway stations in the city should be developed as an alternative system to Pune railway station and new alternative railway services should be started from this station. In this regard, I had raised the question many times in Parliament. Therefore, I am extremely happy to inaugurate the widening of the Shivajinagar railway platform and the new local train service today.”
Talegaon-Lonavala local service has been started from Shivajinagar station and four more new train services will be started in the next few days. Also, for the convenience of passengers, the station has been expanded with drinking water, seating, platform shelter, toilet block, lighting, fans, FOB, water cooler, clock, dustbin, PAS, train indicator board and other facilities.
